text 6 Feb Are you robbing God?

Malachi 3:6-12

6 “I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ 8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the LORD Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

God is very clear when He tells the Israelites that the reason they are not experiencing God’s full blessing is because they are not tithing their required 10%. Verse nine says bring the WHOLE tithe into the storhouse and yet the people were failing to obey and they were reaping the consequences of that. God tells the people to test Him and see that He will provide. I have seen many churches where people will not tithe or just give a little and I believe that to be the reason for a lot of their financial troubles. Just as the Israelites were cursed, they too are cursed. I know times are tough financially, I am currently unemployed as I write this, but I know that God is waiting for His people to test Him and see that He is waiting to pour out His blessings on them. If you are tithing your 10% then look around at God’s rich blessings. If you are not tithing, or not quite that required amount, then start! When you get your next paycheck set aside 10% right off the bat, then use the rest accordingly. Trust me if you step out in faith God will be there waiting to bless you!

Peace and Love!
