Hey guys I had a thought I wanted to share with you. I get emails from the Libertarian Party and something in todays email caught my attention. The guy writing the email added two words at the end that I think are important for us as believers. “Live Free” is what he put right before his name, and the thought hit me that this is how we as Christians are supposed to live. We are free in Christ and yet we often still live as those who are not free! We still cave to sin, and our lives have not really changed from when we were without Christ. Genesis 4:7 says “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” Sin is waiting to devour us and keep us from truly living free! We are called to a higher standard of living because we were bought with a price. God has brought us to freedom in Him and yet so often we live as though we nothing changed! We foolishly go about our lives like God’s grace gives us the freedom to do whatever we want. However the opposite is true, we are to become bondservants to God. 1 John 2:6 says that whoever claims to walk in Him must walk as Jesus did. It says we must walk as Jesus did. Use your freedom to live for God and to serve others just as Jesus taught. I encourage you to make a change in your life, surrender completely to God! Stop living for yourself and find your new purpose in walking as Jesus did.
